It All Comes Down

It all comes apart now. We have at minimum two years of feeding frenzy by the corporations, by the white nationalists, by big fossil fuel, by big pharma and big medicine and big defense. We have to hang together (despite the parade of trolls on here trying desperately to sow dissent and argument) to block, to delay, to obscure. . . we must zen them out, must throw shadows, must do everything possible to keep them from destroying the nation and the Earth. Our biggest advantage is that the pack of jackals coming in with the Trump administration is a roster of neo-con has-beens, religious nutbags, racist wackos, pampered rich boys, and Goldman Sachs suckups. These are not the brightest crayons in the box, and the likelihood of utter incompetence is high, and we will certainly benefit from that.

But in the end, that will NOT BE ENOUGH. Listen. . .

As long as these guys have their hands on the controls of society, as long as we are dependent on the corporations for food and medicine and transportation and housing, we will only be doing a holding action. We've been staging an orderly retreat in the face of these forces for years. We have to stop.

Ultimately we have to get off the corporate teat, to develop our own systems, relationships, and networks. We have to render them, not merely obsolete, but irrelevant.

Every leaf of lettuce you grow, every watt of power you generate, every piece of clothing you make, every work you self publish, every appliance you repair lessens their hold on you. Every gallon of gas not burned, every package of processed food that goes uneaten diminishes their power.

We are more than capable of fighting, but until we get ourselves free, we are only slaves, negotiating for better treatment.
