Who the Heck Is Mungo?

| | |
Mungo is, of course, Dr. Don Elwell, founder of the Grindlebone Theatre, the Grindlebone Arts Collective, Grindlebone Films, The Greylight Theatre of Illinois, the Southern Illinois Renaissance Festival, the Warren G. Harding Festival of the Subversive Arts, the Citrus College department of Technical Theatre, the Carroll College Department of Theatre, and a bloody pain in the ass of those of us trying to keep track of him in our address books.

Dr. Elwell is the author of the Coyote Trilogy of Plays (Coyote, Cyberpunk Opera, and Dub for Babylon), the Novels "In The Shade" and "The Ganymeade Protocol", the acting texts "The Actor Reflects" and "The Actor's Workbook," numerous screenplays (including "Assassin Unknown," "Missing Children," and "Streetrunner"),  articles, short stories, poems, spoken word pieces, internet rants, bits of graffiti, boxtops.....

He is a gamer, a computer nerd, a blacksmith and cutler, an instructor of Western Sword, a sailor, an inveterate actor and ReEnactor.  He is also the founder of the Center for Bypassed Technologies, designer and builder of the shantyboat Floating Empire. . . .

Mungo leaves us a bit breathless at times.

I first met Dr. Elwell, if that's the term, when he gave a talk on Treet TV in an interview by the writer Adele Ward in the Second Life virtual simulator.  We've remained correspondents ever since.

I hope you'll enjoy the efforts of this crazed if amiable polymath as much as I do.

I.N.
